Pain & Movement

Sciatica

Pain radiating from the lower back into the buttock and down the leg along the sciatic nerve path.

What it usually feels like

  • Pain travelling down one leg
  • Tingling or burning along the leg
  • Worse with prolonged sitting
  • Relief when walking or lying flat

What commonly contributes to it

  • Disc changes with age
  • Prolonged sitting
  • Weak core stability
  • Tight gluteal and piriformis muscles
  • Sudden lifting

How we approach it

We confirm the pattern first. Where there is no neurological red flag, treatment combines nerve mobilisation, soft tissue release and progressive core work.

When to see a doctor instead

Leg weakness, foot drop, numbness in the saddle area, or loss of bladder or bowel control is a medical emergency — go to hospital, not to us.

Start with an assessment.

Every plan here begins with understanding what is actually happening. Forty minutes, and you leave knowing where you stand.
