Pain & Movement

Neck & Shoulder Pain

Tightness and pain across the neck, upper back and shoulders, commonly from screen work and phone use.

What it usually feels like

  • Tightness at the base of the neck
  • Pain between the shoulder blades
  • Headaches starting from the neck
  • Reduced ability to turn the head

What commonly contributes to it

  • Screen positioned below eye level
  • Extended phone use with a bent neck
  • Carrying bags on one shoulder
  • Stress-related muscle guarding
  • Sleeping with too many pillows

How we approach it

Hands-on release of the affected muscle groups, heat to reduce guarding, and then a workstation and movement correction so the pattern does not rebuild.

When to see a doctor instead

Seek medical assessment for arm numbness or weakness, neck pain after an accident, or pain with fever and neck stiffness.

Start with an assessment.

Every plan here begins with understanding what is actually happening. Forty minutes, and you leave knowing where you stand.
