Pain & Movement
Lower Back Pain
Pain across the lower back that typically worsens with prolonged sitting, driving or standing, and eases with movement or rest.
What it usually feels like
- Aching or stiffness across the lower back
- Worse after long sitting or driving
- Difficulty bending forward
- Morning stiffness that eases with movement
What commonly contributes to it
- Long hours of sitting without back support
- Weak core and gluteal muscles
- Poor sleeping posture or an unsupportive mattress
- Sudden lifting without preparation
- Excess weight around the abdomen
How we approach it
We assess your posture and movement first to find the mechanical cause. Treatment settles the pain through manual therapy and heat, and corrective movement then builds the strength that stops it returning. Most people need four weeks.
When to see a doctor instead
See a doctor before coming to us if you have pain radiating below the knee with numbness or weakness, loss of bladder or bowel control, pain following a fall or accident, unexplained weight loss, or fever with back pain.
