How we work

What is the difference between naturopathy and physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is assessment-led rehabilitation for pain and restricted movement, usually targeting a specific structure. Naturopathy is broader and lifestyle-led, working across diet, movement, stress and sleep. Nirmal Kaya offers both, and an assessment decides which you need — often it is a combination rather than one or the other.

People often arrive having decided which they need. That decision is usually made on what a friend recommended rather than on what is actually going on, which is one reason we assess before recommending anything.

A rough guide

  • A specific injury, a joint that will not move properly, pain with a clear mechanical pattern — physiotherapy leads
  • Fatigue, digestion, sleep, stress, weight, metabolic concerns — naturopathy and nutrition lead
  • Long-standing back or neck pain — almost always both, because posture, movement and stress all feed it

Start with an assessment.

Every plan here begins with understanding what is actually happening. Forty minutes, and you leave knowing where you stand.
