How do I stop feeling tired and stressed all the time?

Rule out the medical causes before treating it as a lifestyle problem — fatigue with weight loss, fever, breathlessness or swollen glands needs investigating, and basic bloods are worth having. If those are clear, the usual drivers are irregular sleep, no recovery time, and sustained stress with no outlet. Those respond to structure rather than willpower.

Persistent tiredness is one of the most common reasons people come to us, and one of the most commonly mishandled — either dismissed entirely or treated with a supplement.

It has causes that must be ruled out before it is managed. Anaemia, thyroid dysfunction and vitamin D deficiency are all common, all easily tested, and all treatable.

If the tests are clear

  • Fix the wake time first — irregular sleep produces fatigue that no amount of extra hours corrects
  • Build in genuine recovery, meaning time that is not work and not obligation. Scrolling is not recovery
  • Move daily, even briefly. Fatigue improves with activity far more often than it improves with rest
  • Look at the load honestly. Sometimes the answer is not a technique but fewer commitments

When it is not stress

Persistent low mood, loss of interest in things you used to enjoy, panic attacks, or any thoughts of self-harm need psychological or psychiatric care. That is not a lifestyle conversation and should not be treated as one.
