Training Recovery

For bodies that are worked hard on purpose.

Recovery for people who already train. Deep tissue work on the areas that take the load, contrast bathing and heat for turnaround between sessions, and mobility work aimed at the ranges that lifting quietly takes away. It assumes you intend to keep training, and is built around that rather than against it.

This programme is proposed only if your assessment supports it.

What this programme aims to achieve

  • Faster turnaround between hard sessions
  • Range restored at the hips, ankles and thoracic spine
  • A maintenance pattern you can keep up without coming in weekly forever

These are the aims, measured against your own baseline. They are not guarantees — outcomes depend as much on what you do between sessions as on what we do here.

What your programme may include

Depending on your assessment, your programme may include one or more of the following. Which of them apply to you, in what order and how often, is decided by your practitioner — not by this page.

  • Health Assessment

Objective measurement of the things we intend to change, recorded so progress can be shown.

  • Therapeutic Manual Therapy

Structured hands-on soft tissue work for pain, stiffness and circulation.

  • External Hydrotherapy

External water applications at controlled temperature. Strictly non-invasive.

  • Controlled Heat Application

Whole-body or local heat exposure for circulation, stiffness and relaxation.

  • Therapeutic Yoga & Movement

Condition-specific movement, breathing and relaxation practice.

  • Clinical Consultation

Structured history-taking and clinical reasoning to understand what is actually happening.

Read what each of these involves on Treatments & Therapies. The programme runs 4 weeks and totals around 18 sessions.

How this is personalised

  1. 1

    Your assessment sets the baseline

Vitals, posture, movement range and history are recorded before anything is proposed.

  2. 2

The plan is written for you

Which of the above apply, how many of each, and in what sequence — with a stated purpose for every element.

  3. 3

    It changes as you respond

We re-measure the same things partway through. If the numbers are not moving, the plan changes or we tell you it is not working.

Who this is for

People who train three or more times a week and are carrying the ordinary cost of it — tight hips, stiff thoracic spine, calves and forearms that never quite let go.

Who this is not for

A fresh injury, a joint that gives way, or pain that wakes you at night. Those need assessment before any hands-on work, and possibly imaging.
